VIGGO MORTENSEN better known as Aragon from The Lord of the Rings is apparently the first dude in line to play the main villain of the Snyder/Nolan Superman reboot, THE MAN OF STEEL.
The villain he’s playing? None other than GENERAL ZOD!
In a nut shell Zod is in charge of Krypton’s army before it’s demise and is one of the most powerful villains Kal-El has ever faced. His abilities are exactly like Superman so under the yellow sun he can live in space for long periods of time, fly faster then the speed of sound, hit harder then anything and has all the visions to boot. It’s going to be sweet.
Really hoping Viggo plays Zod because if so, I just nerdgasmed. Everywhere.
SUPERMAN: THE MAN OF STEEL is coming out in 2012 and stars Henry Cavill as Superman and Kevin Costner as Clark’s dad.
Bethesda Softworks is making a nifty game called SKYRIM in case you have been living under a rock. Anyway they have a real life quest for their fans for anyone who is having a kid this year if they are born around the games release date which is November 11th 2011 to name their kid Dovahkiin and if they do they will get a special prize.
Also sub names don’t count. It’s Dovahkiin or nothing.
Disclaimer: Any reward for completing this quest will not ultimately justify the potential teasing your child could - and probably will - endure over its lifespan. Bethesda Softworks is not responsible for your parenting. You may gain experience points for completing this quest, but you will not care at 3am on a work night. Completion of this quest may also result in decreased desire to play video games and/or function as a human being. Consult with your friends before embarking on this quest; while it may not start in prison, it probably ends there.
I feel sorry for the kid who gets called this. I guess the kid could always play off the name as a exotic foreign name but still, just no.
THE ELDER SCROLLS: SKYRIM is due out 11/11/11 and looks fantastic. It could even win game of the year by many peoples opinions, I still hope Mass Effect 3 wins. =D
The director of the recently announced origin story of SUPERMAN had this to say:
"My feeling about Superman is that I’ve been a fan of the character for a long time. But the question for me was always, ‘What can you do with Superman in a modern world?’ And I think the amazing thing that Chris [Nolan] and David [Goyer] have created, that I’m working on now, and the reason why I was like, ‘Yeah, I’ll do that,’ was that they found that in him. They found the why in him. That’s the exciting part for me."
Snyder also had this to add:
"I can’t really talk about that without being kind of specific… But I can say I think Superman needs to be physical."
The Man of Steel is set to hit in December 2012. Henry Cavill is also playing Superman.
